Nick Sinfield: 21 February 1973 – 29 September 2024
1st October 2024
After an almost 2-year battle against brain cancer we have the sad news to report that Nick Sinfield passed away peacefully at home on the 29th September with his wife Anna at his side.
It has been a great privilege to work so closely with Nick at Marick and we will miss him both as a colleague and a friend. Nick’s ability to come up with clever solutions to apparently intractable problems was unparalleled in anyone we have worked with. Of course, for every brilliant solution he came up with, a good number of crazy schemes would follow – who knows how many times we rolled our eyes at him as he tried to explain his latest cunning plan.
The respect and admiration that those who worked with him had for his intelligence and also the way he interacted with, and treated people became even clearer when they heard that Nick was ill – we have heard so many expressions from people outside Marick of how much they enjoyed working with him, how he was so intelligent, kind and so effective in achieving his objectives.
Our thoughts and condolences are now with Anna and his 2 children Alice and Lizzie and the rest of his family as they come to terms with life without Nick.
As details become available of his funeral, we will make further updates.
On behalf of all the staff at Marick
