Our people

Patrick leads Marick’s growth and operational consolidation as a developer and manager of real estate assets across multiple use classes. His focus is on building a disciplined, client centred business that aligns strategy, delivery and capital to create resilient projects and long term value.
He entered the real estate industry in 1987 with Cushman & Wakefield (then Healey & Baker), where he progressed to run European Operations, Corporate Services and, subsequently, West End Office Agency. In 2000, Patrick joined European business park developer Akeler as a Director overseeing UK developments, including Leeds Valley Park, Central Park Manchester and Rainton Bridge in Sunderland. Following the sale of Akeler to Macquarie Goodman in October 2006, he became Director for UK business parks, stewarding a portfolio of approximately £2bn. In 2007, he co founded Marick and after an initial period of growth, the company consolidated as Marick Real Estate in 2017, where Patrick continues to serve as Managing Director.
Away from work, Patrick is a former Barnes RFC player from the late 1980s/early 1990s whose love of sport later moved to squash and tennis before settling on golf, where he plays off 12 and serves as Honorary Secretary of the Estate Golfing Society.

Nigel has been Finance Director at Marick since 2013, with responsibility for all financial, IT and HR matters. A chartered accountant with 35 years’ experience, most of it within the real estate sector, he brings experienced financial oversight and a measured, disciplined approach to how the business invests and allocates its resources. One of his central priorities is ensuring Marick’s capital is deployed wisely and supports sustainable growth across the business.
In addition to his professional role, Nigel is an honorary Canon of Kondoa Cathedral in Tanzania, a connection he has strengthened through six visits in recent years to support and develop links between the Diocese and his home church.

Matthew joined Marick in 2015 and is responsible for the full delivery cycle across all Marick projects and developments. He has led some of the company’s most complex schemes, including the £120m Lambeth Civic Centre and Town Hall masterplan. The programme comprised the refurbishment of a Grade II listed town hall, a new civic building for the London Borough of Lambeth, and three major residential developments, including a 14 storey tower and the restoration of a listed art deco building.
Matt has a track record spanning residential, hotel and industrial sectors, and leads Marick’s education sector team. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Association of Project Management, and holds PRINCE2 Practitioner status, bringing rigorous technical and programme discipline to every scheme he oversees.
Outside of work, Matthew is a committed sportsman, regularly playing golf, squash, cycling and padel.

Hector leads capital raising and investment transactions at Marick, structuring bespoke equity and debt solutions to match capital with development opportunities. Drawing on deep capital markets expertise and strong relationships with institutional and private investors, he oversees deals from sourcing through execution to completion.
Before joining Marick, Hector worked at Leopard Capital and at Swiss Life Asset Managers (formerly Mayfair Capital), having previously spent five years in Knight Frank’s Capital Markets team. He has transacted around £0.5bn of real estate and raised capital across a range of strategies. Hector studied Economics & Politics at Durham University and holds an MSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading.
When he’s out of office, Hector’s usually outdoors, trail running, cycling in the hills, or donning skins to explore the backcountry.

A development manager specialising in industrial real estate, Matthew combines project management and quantity surveying expertise to deliver schemes from concept through completion. Over more than 12 years in the industry, including the last six and a half at Marick, he has worked as Development Manager, Project Manager/Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor across a range of projects, with a recent emphasis on industrial assets. Before joining Marick, he served as a Development Manager in Abu Dhabi, adding international perspective to his UK experience. Day to day, Matthew’s focus is on disciplined programme control, cost management and clear stakeholder coordination to keep design, procurement and delivery aligned. Away from work he’s a football fan and an enthusiastic golfer who has happily organised the company’s annual golf trip for the past four years, despite his enthusiam outweighing his ability on the course.

Lisa provides high‑level administrative and technical support across Marick’s Project Management and Cost Management teams. With strong technical understanding of construction processes and protocols, she plays a central role in preparing planning, tender and contract documentation, where her attention to detail is essential to maintaining accuracy and compliance. Alongside her technical responsibilities, Lisa also oversees project accounting, working closely with the wider team to ensure invoicing and cashflows run smoothly throughout each project cycle.
With over 25 years in the construction industry, Lisa began her career onsite in 2000 with a construction management contractor, gaining hands‑on insight into day‑to‑day delivery. She later moved into project management with APS in 2002, remaining through its acquisition by ARCADIS/EC Harris. Since joining Marick in 2014, she has supported projects across education, hotels, offices, industrial schemes and high‑end residential.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and can usually be found on the sidelines cheering her boys on, with a coffee in one hand and an umbrella in the other.

Callum is responsible for identifying new sites and works closely with the Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets to raise capital, playing a key role in assessing opportunities and managing investment transactions.
Callum is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with over nine years’ experience across APAC and UK markets, and has worked on major real estate transactions in these markets for global REITs, SWFs and HNWs.
His responsibility encompasses early‑stage underwriting and due diligence, as well as monitoring project cashflows with the Finance Director and Development Management team to ensure schemes remain commercially disciplined.
Originally from New Zealand, Callum is a keen traveller and photographer, and since joining Marick, has taken up golf. He is a much better analyst than he is a golfer.

As a chartered quantity surveyor (MRICS), James leads development, project and commercial management mandates across Marick’s portfolio. Working flexibly on a project‑by‑project basis, he partners closely with delivery teams to scope, underwrite and steer programmes from early due diligence through construction and handover, ensuring each scheme is commercially disciplined and aligned to the employer’s requirements.
With over 20 years in real estate and more than 15 years as a chartered surveyor, James has delivered complex, high‑value projects ranging from £2m to £500m+ across multiple sectors, including Residential/Living (open market, BTR, PBSA and later living), Industrial, Education and Commercial. He is experienced in managing multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external, to drive outcomes on time and on budget.
Away from work, you’ll find James either with the family or at his local racquets & fitness club.

Nicola is a chartered accountant responsible for overseeing Marick’s financial operations. Working closely with the Finance Director, she covers the full breadth of financial and accounting activity across the business, maintaining the integrity of records, shaping clear management reporting and keeping day‑to‑day controls running smoothly so projects and people stay aligned. She took her first industry role shortly after qualifying in 1987 and, despite early advice that property “wouldn’t be for her,” has spent her career thriving in the sector, bringing a balanced, down‑to‑earth perspective to every challenge. Outside work, Nicola’s family life keeps her busy; she sings in a choir, is an active member of a book club and, to the delight of colleagues, occasionally arrives with a home‑baked cake for the office.

Mala manages the office and provides administrative support to the Board and the wider team, ensuring the smooth, day‑to‑day running of Marick’s operations. She produces presentation materials in Adobe InDesign, oversees routine accounting functions including invoicing and banking, and maintains accurate HR records, coordinating onboarding and offboarding and processing payroll. Trusted for her discretion when handling sensitive company data, she also plans company events to keep internal communications and culture strong.
With over 30 years’ experience in the property industry, Mala has been part of Marick since its inception in 2007. Earlier in her career she held PA roles at Board level for organisations including BT, Healey & Baker and Akeler, giving her a broad view of how successful property and corporate teams operate day-to-day.
Away from work, Mala enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
